Fire Pump

Fire Pump

A fire Hydrant pump is a part of a fire sprinkler system’s water supply and powered by electric, diesel or steam.

The pump provides high-pressure water flow to the sprinkler system and hose standpipes. The fire Hydrant pump works when the pressure in the fire sprinklers system drops below a threshold. When one or more fire sprinkles are exposed to heat higher than design temperature and higher than releasing water then the sprinkler system pressure drops. Fire pumps are used when the local municipal water system cannot provide sufficient pressure to meet the hydraulic requirement of the fire sprinkler system.

The backup pump and the main pumps are electrical and the second backup pump is diesel-powered. Because when the electricity fails then the second backup is used.
